Book Re:public
Introduction
Book Re:public is an independent bookstore and public learning space in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Founded in 2011, it was built on the belief that books, knowledge, and open conversation help people better understand themselves and the world around them. Over the years, ‘Book Re:public’ has hosted talks, reading groups, film screenings, workshops, and other community-based activities, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds to exchange ideas on contemporary social issues. Beyond bookselling, the bookstore develops a range of educational and cultural initiatives, including ‘Human (ร้าย) Right, Human Wrong’, which explores social issues and human rights through art and creative practice, and ‘Critical Thinking Space (คิด Space)’, which nurtures critical thinking and reflective learning among young people and the wider community. Through this work, Book Re:public remains a welcoming space for curiosity, dialogue, cultural exchange, and lifelong learning.
