Introduction

Clarissa Lim Kye Lee is a cultural worker based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Her practice centers on the urban influence of Malaysian arts collectives, integrating visual culture, arts, and architecture, primarily exploring these concepts through research, curation, and writing.

She is a PhD candidate at CUHK's School of Architecture, supported by the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship and CUHK Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship, and has lectured at The University of Hong Kong, Malaysian Institute of Art, and The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her writing appears in Process Magazine, Design Anthology and other publications. As a Hubs for Good Scholar, she developed a report on Creative Hubs for the University of Malaya and British Council Malaysia. She is a founding partner of ERTI, a research consultancy based in Southeast Asia working with The Asia Foundation and Goethe-Institut Malaysia, blending expertise in arts, law, and policy to deliver strategic insights on the regional creative economy, and has presented at ANCER conferences. She recently completed The Regenerative Practitioner course with The Regenesis Group and is part of the Future Positive cohort working with artists, regenerative practitioners, and ecological systems thinking frameworks. Most recently, she was funded by the Canada Council for the Arts for the project 'bloodwork,' researching contemporary and collective arts practices in Malaysia with curator Karie Liao.
