Introduction

Warong Wonglangka is a landscape architect, researcher, and Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Chiang Mai University. His work explores the relationships between cultural landscapes, biodiversity, local ecological knowledge, and community-based conservation, with a particular focus on Northern Thailand and the Lanna region. Combining landscape architecture, ethnobotany, and heritage studies, his research investigates how vernacular knowledge and cultural practices can inform ecological restoration and urban resilience. He has led and contributed to numerous research projects on cultural landscapes, urban forests, waterways, and biocultural conservation, and currently serves as Vice President of the Thai Arboriculture Association and a member of the ICOMOS International Scientific Committee on Cultural Landscapes.
